2025 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix: Preview

Hinwil, 16 April 2025 – Stake F1 Team KICK Sauber heads to Saudi Arabia for the third and final leg of the first triple-header of the season. After a demanding weekend in Bahrain, the team is ready to return to action, aiming to build on the work done so far and continue its development path with the C45. The Jeddah Corniche Circuit’s fast and flowing layout will offer a new challenge for the team, as it targets turning potential into tangible results.
The weekend also sees the return of F1 Academy, with Round 2 taking place alongside the Grand Prix. Representing the team, Emma Felbermayr will look to keep up with the strong form shown in China last month, as she takes on the rapid streets of Jeddah.
Team Quotes
Jonathan Wheatley, Team Principal: "Closing the Bahrain chapter behind us, we now look ahead to Jeddah for the final leg of this triple-header. The Corniche Circuit is known to be challenging and is a tough test for every team. While we haven’t had the results we’re aiming for recently, we remain focused on making the most of each opportunity this weekend could deliver. Our priority is to extract everything we can from the C45, ensure we execute a solid operational performance, and position ourselves to fight for the best possible result."
Nico Hulkenberg (car number 27): "Jeddah is known as a good challenge – it’s fast, narrow, and doesn’t leave any room for mistakes. The track layout should suit our C45 better than recently Bahrain did. Certainly, to be competitive here, we need to make sure everything is dialed in from the start. The focus for us will be on getting the setup right and finding the balance we need to be quick through every session. It’s a matter of staying focused, adapting to the changing track conditions due to the heat, and making sure we’re in the right place to take advantage of any opportunities that come our way."
Gabriel Bortoleto (car number 5): "Jeddah is a fast and tricky circuit: I raced here last year already, so I know this layout. We’ve been working hard on maximising our learnings so far, and I’m focused on continuing that progress, refining my own performance, and pushing for a competitive result. My goal is to stay focused, keep building, and make the most of the weekend."
