Gabriel Bortoleto
From Brazil to Europe as a child
For the first time since 2017, Brazil has a full-time driver at the pinnacle of motorsport. Even as a child, Gabriel dreamed of becoming a Formula One driver. His big idol: Ayrton Senna. Born in São Paulo, Gabriel first climbed into a kart at the age of six. He won junior kart titles between 2012 and 2014, before making the move to Europe at the age of eleven to pursue a professional racing career.

Into single-seaters
In 2020, Gabriel made his debut in single-seater racing. He finished his first season in the Italian Formula 4 Championship in fourth place. Two years in Formula Regional in Europe and Asia followed, with his first podium in 2021 and three race wins in 2022.

Back-to-back titles in F2 and F3
On his Formula 3 debut in Bahrain in 2023, Gabriel won, took the championship lead and defended it throughout the season. Moving up to Formula 2 the following season, he also secured the championship title as a rookie in a highly competitive field. Stake F1 Team KICK Sauber made the step to sign the rising star as Nico Hulkenberg’s teammate for 2025 and for the future Audi F1 factory team: at the age of 20, Gabriel fulfilled his dream of becoming a Formula One driver.
